Its soothing and healing effect on the digestive tract makes it most effective for stomach ulcers, gastritis and colic. Liquorice treats coughs and bronchitis by soothing the respiratory system and clearing mucous from the lungs.

Preparation: 1/2 - 1 tsp per cup. Simmer 10 minutes. Drink 3 times daily, or simply chew on a piece.
