Catnip is well known for its relaxing effects, gently helping to relieve tension. Because of its mild nature, it is excellent to give to children for hyperactivity and nervousness. Its ability to promote sweating (diaphoretic) makes it useful to relieve fevers and at the onset of colds. As an anti-spas- modic and carminative (relieves gas), it eases stomach up- sets, atulence and colic. It is a great remedy for diarrhoea in children. Catnip is well known for its ability to get some cats high, plunging them into a rolling, purring ecstasy of delight! May be smoked as a relaxing alternative.
