Slippery Elm is traditionally mixed with honey and a little water to soothe sore and irritated throats and is applied topically to skin sores to reduce inflammation. A gruel made from the herb is excellent for convalescing patients who are struggling to eat.
Please note: Slippery Elm is an endangered species. We source our Slippery Elm from a sustainable farm in the US which does not over-harvest its trees. If you want to reduce the impact for the demand of this precious tree you can replace it with Marshmallow Leaf which shares many of the same properties.
